Optical Calcite , also called Iceland Spar occurs in excellent rhombohedral cleavages and colors ranging from transparent clear to pale pink, green, gold, etc. It displays the characteristic of Double Refraction; when placed over an object or printed image the image will be seen doubled. It is often highly fluorescent.
