The mines of Hardin County, Illinois are World famous for a variety of exquesite mineral specimens including Fluorite in lots of colors, Calcite, Galena, Sphalerite, Barite and some less known species like Witherite and Strontianite. These mines have been closed and full of water for many years so new specimens come from old collections and good ones are rare.
